Discover Saint Petersburg!

By foot

This is without a doubt the best way to get acquainted with the city. Treat yourself to a walk down the Nevsky Prospekt and around the Hermitage museum. Stroll through the small streets and find yourself in the very heart of Saint Petersburg, the passages and yards, the so-called "wells", which are just as much a part of the city's soul to the locals as its palaces, theatres and museums. You will be perfectly safe wondering around in the daytime, but if you prefer to be accompanied, you can use one of our guides or take a walk with "Piter walking tours" (excursions available in Russian and English). For more information, check out their site www.peterswalk.com

By boat

For those who prefer a more peaceful and restful tour, this is a spectacular way to discover the city, but it is available in the summer only. There are plenty of boat departure points, yet only one company offers excursions in English at set departure times: Neva canals and rivers with "Anglo Tourismo All Aboard".

Daily departures at 12:00, 20:30 and 00:30.

Departure from: Fontanka river embankment, between Anichkov bridge and Lomonosova bridge (by number 64 on the Fontanka embankment). No need to book in advance, just turn up 15 to 20 minutes before departure time.

Prices:

12:00 and 20:30 excursions cost 400 RUB for adults and 300 RUB for students.

00:30 excursions cost 450 RUB and 350 RUB for students.

The excursion envolves about an hour and a half of fascinating beauty. Surrender to the charm of Saint Petersburg and its most famous avenues, discover the city's fabulous elegance, the splendor of its palaces, churches and historical sites while listening to the city's history and stories told by an attentive and experienced guide. The company is reputed for being punctual and for providing high quality services. There are blankets in case of bad weather, a bar, and you are guaranteed numerous stories about Saint Petersburg's past and present.

By bike

This may be the best way to get to know Saint Petersburg on a wider scale, as there are so many places one must see, and the whole can be physically exhausting if you do it all by foot. However, we would like to warn you that you should be very careful on the streets, as Russian drivers are not yet used to respecting bikers.
